Proposals

For our 3D cardboard creation pieces i was given a mangolia seed . I decided on three different proposals.

A wasp - the seed with be constructed and attached to my butt and i would create a headpiece and wings to go with it.

Microphone- the area that you speak in will be the seed

Skirt - the seed would be constructed around my waist to my knees.

The class decided by majority for me to creat the wasp.

After creating the mangolia seed i ran into a big problem. The Construction was way to heavey to attach to my body. Therefore i needed a new idea.

I decided to create a spider. The see with be the butt of the spider, i will have to creat a torso, face, and 8 legs.

Final Squares

For the square assingment, we all had to construct 8 pieces. sets of two protraying:

playful/orderly - I used a seriers of circles circleing eachother and a series of sqaures in a stright pattern.

Anxious/ relaxed - i used a seriers of squares that are very large that are almost touching and squares and easily melted into eachother.

Heavy/light - i stayed simple with this idea and used larger squares holding squares and a small square holding smaller ones.

rough/smooth - Lastly, i used a series of squares cutting in and out , melting in and out in a crooked line and another series of squares decreasing insize going down in a angled but stright line.

Final Dots

After creating over 40 thumbnails , narrowing down to 15, and then to three; The group quickly critiqued my thumbnails and choose the best, the worst, and confusing of the bunch. Finally ,three circle thumbnails demostrating proximity, continuence, and similarity.

Lance Letscher

Letscher works specializes in collages from "found" papers, album covers, books, handwritten recipes, notes, and magazine clippings among them which are then cut and arranged into intriguing patterns and textures.
I found him interesting because, in a way anyone can cut and paste pictures from just about anything but combining them into art work that has meaning and is visually stimulating is something that only an artist can do.

Dots

In 2D, we began to make 30 different thumbnails of dots. I ha d to protray the meaning of proximity, continuance, and similarity. After reviewing my work I realized some habbits I do. I saw that all my thumbnails contained a small dot. I also saw that I needed to use more variety in dot sizes. I used the small small, medium, and large dot size and I should utilize the other various sizes like extremely large and mini sizes.

Spheres

Next, we had to make three spheres. I had to create a sphere that looked like sink, internal of a sphere, and last a sphere with out any glue. My first sphere was made easily, i used a a strong strip of cardboard and slid in a series of different circle sizes to make the sphere with out any glue. Second, i cut out a series of rectangle stripes and glues them in a geometrical pattern to form a internal view of a sphere. Last, i struggled to create a sphere that represented skin. I used a series of triangles and attempted to assemble them in a circular pattern. I had a hard time form a circle with this idea.
